On 17 May the ex-formula 1 boss and motorsport pundit hosted a star studded rock ‘n’ roll evening at One Marylebone in London. Co-hosted by Sir Tom Hunter and enjoyed by an eclectic mix of guests from the worlds of motorsport, music, business and industry, the event proved a no 1 hit all round – with performances from the likes of Mike + The Mechanics and Simple Minds, as well as EJ’s own band ‘Eddie & The Robbers’. A live auction raised significant funds to support Amber. And 27 May saw us on stage in Monaco – well, our name at least, as we benefited from the proceeds of the annual Amber Lounge charity fashion event that launches the Monaco Grand Prix weekend’s social activities. Eddie introduced our charity to the international audience with an impassioned speech about the work we do – inspiring guests to be generous when another live auction took place in the hands of the talented Mr Charlie Ross, auctioneer. Speaking of both events, Amber CEO Paul Rosam said ‘‘The support of Eddie Jordan has made an incredible impact on Amber and our ability to support some very vulnerable young people. We have developed a very successful model over the past twenty years and achieved some amazing outcomes. Much of that success comes from seeing the potential in the young people that come to us and we are so very fortunate that Eddie sees that too. We are indebted to him.’’
