Eddie Jordan OBE, businessman, ex- Formula One boss, and pundit.
Eddie has been a huge supporter of Amber for over 12 years. Among other initiatives Eddie spearheads Amber Rocks, a biannual fundraising event, in which Eddie is able to combine his love of music with raising money for Amber. Amber Rocks is a star-studded event held at the Bloomsbury Ballroom every other year. Performers have included Boyzone, Simple Minds and Eddie’s own band Eddie and The Robbers.
“Amber is a charity that is very close to my heart and I am delighted to be a Patron of such an important cause. The opportunities that we get in life can be a roll of the dice and many young people don’t get the support, care or opportunities that they need, which can lead some down the wrong path. That is where Amber makes a difference. We help young people to realise their potential so that they have the confidence and motivation to grab the opportunities that they have with both hands.”
Joe Wicks MBE, also known as The Body Coach, a fitness coach, TV presenter and author.
Surrey-born Joe first became aware of The Amber Foundation after his mother, a social worker, started to work with some of the residents at their site near Dorking in Surrey. Since then, Joe has visited the centre on a number of occasions, donating fitness equipment and giving advice on physical activity and nutrition.
Joe was invited to become a Patron in 2021 and we are delighted he accepted.
“I have been lucky enough to visit Amber’s Surrey centre a few times to meet the young people and the team after being introduced by my mum. I always leave feeling so inspired by the work and by the individuals who are turning their lives around. Being a child growing up in a family with experience of addiction and chaos, I am reminded just how important places like this are for people who need some love and support so I’m delighted to become a patron. Amber is a place that truly cares and wants to see people live a healthier and happier life. We both share this mission and it is important to me that I do anything that I can to help this work continue. I hope my involvement can lead to even more people receiving help and support in the future.”
